After a couple of challenging years for the aviation industry, Heathrow is now back to its best, delivering excellent and consistent passenger service.
Over the last year, we have continued to progress towards our sustainability goals, and are proud to be the first airport to achieve science-based validation from the SBTi for our 2030 carbon reduction goals. In addition, we launched a world first – an airport Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) incentive programme which aims to cover up to 50% of the extra cost of SAF, making the fuel more affordable for airlines to use. This year alone, the programme is expected to save over 81,000 tonnes of CO2.
Heathrow remains committed to supporting the UK’s competitiveness, ensuring that all the nations and regions of the UK are connected to global markets. Earlier this year, Loganair took advantage of our domestic charges discount and introduced new routes to Northern Ireland and Scotland, as well as connections opening to 10 Chinese cities as borders reopen. Furthermore, Heathrow now has more flights to New York than any other European hub.
We would be delighted if you could join us to discuss the benefits that Heathrow brings to the whole of the UK through tourism and trade, as well as the work that Heathrow is doing to decarbonise the aviation sector.
